Hi, I’m Emily Ross, a Realtor, advocate, mom, and the daughter of Sugie Lane Vasquez. My life has always been about wearing many hats and finding a way to get it all done, no matter what life throws my way.

In real estate, I’ve built my business on heart, hustle, and creativity. I’ve helped hundreds of families across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana find homes, all while bringing a little fun into the process (yes, I’m the Realtor who hands out tacos and makes marketing feel like a game!). I believe in showing up fully for my clients, treating them like family, and making one of the biggest decisions of their life feel a little lighter.

 

But there’s another side of me, the advocate. In 1997, my mom, Sugie, was murdered by my father when she tried to leave an abusive marriage. That loss could have broken me, but instead it became the fire that fuels me. I founded the Sugie Lane Foundation to honor her legacy and to help other victims of domestic violence find safety, hope, and a chance to rebuild. I’ve stood on courthouse lawns with silhouettes of victims, worked with law enforcement on awareness campaigns, and I’m still searching for justice for my mom by keeping Rogelio’s name and story alive.

 

Some days, I’m juggling showings, open houses, listings and contracts. Other days, I’m working late on foundation events, preparing to step onto bigger stages as a speaker, road-mapping the four books I’m determined to write, FIGHTING for Justice and connecting victims with resources. And many days, it’s all of the above. It’s not easy, but it’s my calling. Because I believe you can build a career, raise a family, fight for justice, and still find joy in the little things.

 

At the end of the day, I’m Emily, not just the name my mom gave me, but a woman determined to turn pain into purpose, to fight for justice, and to make a difference while still showing up with a smile, a taco, and a whole lot of FIRE. This is my story.. and I am just getting started.
